Your Odoo 16 Migration Roadmap
If you run an Odoo Development Company, you might be thinking about upgrading to the latest version, Odoo 16. Before you make that decision, there are some important factors to consider.
- The Significance of Upgrading:
Moving to a new major version of Odoo is a substantial decision. It involves not just the financial and operational aspects of migration but also the compatibility with your existing setup and customizations.
2. About Odoo 16:
Odoo 16 was released in October and stands as the most recent major release. This version brings a host of new features and improvements, such as a brand-new website builder, a redesigned accounting module, and enhanced enterprise resource planning capabilities.
3. Technical Requirements:
To run Odoo 16, you need Python 3.6 or higher. If you have an older Python version, you’ll need to upgrade. Additionally, Odoo 16 requires a minimum PostgreSQL version of 9.5. If you have an older PostgreSQL version, you must upgrade before migrating.
4. Upgrade Path:
It’s crucial to note that there’s no direct upgrade from Odoo 13 or earlier to Odoo 16. If you’re using an older Odoo version, you’ll first need to upgrade to Odoo 14 or 15 before moving to Odoo 16.
